For tipping material, we have a one-ton minimum. So regardless of how much material you drop off, you will be charged the price for one ton. For mulch + soils, it is a one-yard minimum. For aggregates, we have a half-ton minimum.

It takes 9 – 3 cubic foot bags to equal one yard and 13.5 – 2 cubic foot bags to equal one yard.
The processing is exactly the same for both materials. The difference is that our color-enhanced mulches go through a dye trommel, while the natural mulch bypasses that process.
Triple processing ensures a finer, more uniform texture that spreads easily, retains moisture better, and breaks down slowly for long-lasting coverage. It also enhances color consistency and reduces the chance of large debris or contaminants.
The colorant used is water soluble, non-toxic, and biodegradable, so it won’t hurt plants, children or animals.
When handling dyed mulch, use the same precautions you would if you were painting a fence or the outside of a house. You should allow at least 48 hours for the mulch to dry or cure, after spreading, to prevent discoloration. Dyed mulch may take a little more TLC in the beginning but the color will look great throughout the whole season.
Mulch can be applied year-round, but spring and fall are ideal. Spring mulching helps retain moisture and suppress weeds, while fall mulching insulates roots and protects soil from winter erosion.
All our mulch products are made from 100% recycled local wood waste, helping reduce landfill impact and promote sustainable landscaping. By sourcing from nearby communities, we minimize transportation emissions and support local ecosystems.

Processed wood, ground to a fibrous consistency, randomly sized not typically over 2″ in length, free of hazardous substances, and meets ASTM F2075 standard for EWF.
The U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) has determined that mulch is not considered an accessible playground surface. Engineered Wood Fiber is manufactured specifically for use in playgrounds using raw materials that are typically free of twig and leaf material.
The use of the IPEMA Certification Seal signifies that the manufacturer has received written validation from the independent laboratory that the product associated with the use of the seal conforms with the requirements of ASTM F1292-09 standard specification for impact attenuation and ASTM F2075-10 standard specification for material purity for use as a surface systems under and around playground equipment.
Engineered Wood Fiber has been tested in accordance with ASTM F1292 impact tests, ASTM F2075 for purity and quality, and ASTM F1951 for accessibility. EWF meets or exceeds ASTM Standards and CPSC guidelines. Ask your manufacturer for test results.
Engineered wood fiber will maintain its cushioning properties for the life of the playground, provided the depth is maintained by occasional top-offs. EWF does not decompose as mulch does.
Engineered Wood Fiber is not chemically treated and is totally natural.
Occasional raking and tamping, as usage dictates is necessary to keep the play area in good condition. According to usage, climate and the condition of the drainage system below, the surface will need to be topped off with fresh EWF periodically. Accessories like wear mats are available for high use areas to help maintain accessibility and limit maintenance.

Store in a cool, dry place between 35°F–80°F when not in use. Do not allow product to freeze as it can become unusable. Do not allow product to become super-heated by storing in intense direct sunlight for extended times. This can lead to excessive evaporation and promote mold growth. If product thickens or settles, agitate vigorously before use. Always store unused product with caps installed to prevent evaporation, hardening and contamination.
When stored as directed, our colorants remain stable for up to 6 months without difficult settling. Use “first in, first out” best inventory practices to ensure freshness.
Our colorants use high-performance iron oxide and carbon black pigments for long-term stability, color consistency, superior color strength and weather resistance. Pigments are fully dispersed within a water-based system that includes binding agents and are stabilized to reduce settling and ensure consistency throughout the colorizing process.
Our industrial strength mulch colorant products generally range from 40–50% pigment solids with viscosities between 250–450 cP at 25°C. This consistency ensures excellent pumpability, high color strength yield and dispersibility within the colorizing equipment.
Although we include a degree of freeze-thaw protection within the system, protection is limited and it is NOT advised for colorant to remain in below freezing temperatures for extended durations. Once product freezes into a solid state, it will become unusable. Store product in an area that will remain above freezing.
There are many variables that affect application rates, including but not limited to type of wood fiber, desired intensity, surface moisture and colorizing method. Typical applications range from 3.5–5.5 lbs. of colorant solids per cubic yard of finished mulch.
